This page contains all the information about the kickboxing gradings.


At present there are 6 instructors who are authorised to take S&H kickboxing gradings

All SH Freestyle Martial Arts Gradings are fully ratified by the Cobra Martial Arts Association.
Grade order

7th Kyu Yellow
6th Kyu Blue
5th Kyu Orange
4th Kyu Green
3rd Kyu Red
2nd Kyu Purple
1st Kyu Brown
Shodan 1st Dan Black Belt 

Children (upto 12 years) taking their Orange, Green and Red belts will have their syllabus broken down into 2 assessments.
All students must train for a minmum of 12 class lessons prior to being graded for their 1st kyu yellow belt and their 2nd kyu blue belt.
 
All students must train for a minmum of 16 class lessons prior to being graded for their 3rd kyu orange belt and their 4th kyu green belt.

All students must train for a minmum of 6 months prior to being graded for their 5th kyu red belt, 6th kyu purple belt and 7th kyu brown belt.

All students attending their shodan (1st Dan) must train for a minimum of 1 year from their 7th kyu brown belt.

Grading Rules

A student may qualify for their grading up to 5th kyu red belt as long as the following has been achieved

* Trained a minimum of once a week with a good attendance record
* Have had no trouble with the law and at school
* Have shown good discipline within their classes
* Maintained the rules and regulations as set by SH Freestyle Martial Arts 
   and the CMAA



A student may qualify for their grading from 5th kyu red belt up to 7th kyu brown belt as long as the following has been achieved

* Trained a minimum 20 weeks from their last grading date
* Have had no trouble with the law and at school
* Have shown good discipline within their classes
* Maintained the rules and regulations as set by SH Freestyle Martial Arts
   and the CMAA



A student may qualify for their shodan grade (1st Dan) and above as long as the following has been achieved

* Trained a minimum of twice a week
* Have had no trouble with the law and at school
* Have trained for a minimum of 1 year (SENIOR) 46 lessons 
   6 Months 20 lessons (JUNIOR) from their last grade
* Have shown good discipline
* Maintained the rules and regulations as set by SH Freestyle Martial Arts and the CMAA
